Wonderlit Web Site Illustrations

Wonderful opportunity to illustrate for Wonderlit; a Fairytale Writing Course by Michelle Tocher offered online. (Perfect project for those who want to escape especially these days :)
https://wonderlit.com/
The challenge was to develop a style to accompany John Bauer's magical imagery used on the site designed by Blair Francey. Fantastic project with my ipad immersed in the visual aspect of story telling  in a retro style with the use of the drawing and painting program; procreate. Great collaborative process with author, Michelle Tocher and partner, Paul Hodgson as the trusting second pair of well tuned creative eyes.

Wonderlit Illustrations Part 2. The Otherworld Journey

As part of the illustrations for the  online course designed by Michelle Tocher, I was asked to use the Classic fairy tale,Hansel and Gretel, to help illustrate the structure of designing a fairytale. I researched classic illustrations for this story in order to create my own approach.Great fun.

Black History Month Stamp Project 2020

Always proud to be invited. The process is fun and not always seen to press in competitions. West Coast Amber Valley Community with Amy Broady midwife(front right) and East Coast Willow Grove community were the focus of this year's Canada Black History Stamps. I was selected  to illustrate for my folk art approach. I enjoyed painting the portrait of Ms.Broady holding newborn especially. Simplified elegance holding infant as core of the community with early settlement and culture about.

David Smith is a genius....He has crunched our world numbers down to make sense of where we live and how we live. It is so important, especially in today's world, to understand our neighbours worldwide.
